[ Contact Us Now (Apologies, but this only applies to people living in the UK) ]
For years we have been taking telephone calls from gay men and other people who have been diagnosed as being HIV positive, desperate to arrange some life insurance to protect their loved ones. Just at a time when the need for life insurance is at its greatest we have had to break the news that such cover just wasn’t available in the UK market.
However, there is now a product provider that will consider gay men and others who are living with HIV.
If the following statements apply to you, then we might be able to arrange life insurance cover for you:-
- CD4 count higher than 0.4 million per millilitre (CD4 count of 400 equates to 0.4 million per ml - so, for example, a CD4 count of 1263 would be 1.263 million per ml)
- On HAART treatment (Highly Active Anti-retroviral Treatment) unless diagnosed more than 10 years ago
- Viral load lower than 100,000 per millilitre
- No history of IV drug use / hepatitis B or C
The life insurance provider will only allow a term of up to 10 years and of course you can expect to pay a higher premium because of your condition, but this is a major step forward.
If you would like more information, please complete our enquiry form and we’ll get back to you to get other information that we will need. We can’t promise that terms will be offered, but it might be worthwhile to enquire.
Any information that you give us will of course be confidential but we will have to give some details about you to the product provider in order to establish whether cover is available. All life insurance product providers are subject to strict guidance on keeping medical information highly confidential.
We look forward to hearing from you: complete our contact form for more information about whether you are eligible for life insurance for people living with HIV.
