gay finance - financial advice for gay men and lesbians from THE independent experts - Isis Financial Planners

About Isis Financial Planners

Truly independent gay financial advisers

Isis Financial Planners Limited - independent financial advisers - was formed in February 2002, with the aim of providing a highly personalised and professional financial planning and wealth management service.

The financial advisers at Isis Financial Planners now advise on about £90 M of clients' money.

We believe it is imperative for a company of gay financial advisers , serving the gay community, to be totally independent of any other company so that they can find the very best product/service for each person's needs. Our three consultants are some of the most experienced in the business:

Louis Letourneau is a fully qualified member of the Society Of Trust and Estate Practitioners - find out more about STEPLouis Letourneau , MA, is an experienced gay, independent financial adviser (IFA), a Member of The Personal Finance Society (DIP PFS) and a specialist in financial planning and wealth management. He has a BA in economics, an MA in international relations and a background in Canadian politics. He holds the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate and is a fully qualified STEP practitioner (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners). He has more than 15 years experience as a financial adviser and he speaks regularly on national and local radio and has appeared several times on BBC2’s Working Lunch.

Louis is also a successful campaigner for gay and lesbian rights with a background in Canadian politics. He founded Rainbow Finance in 1995 and has consistently challenged financial companies and Government on their attitudes to gays, lesbians and same sex couples and was instrumental in the Inland Revenue to changing its guidance notes to recognise unmarried couples in pension benefits. His work has also resulted in life insurance companies starting to relax the discriminatory underwriting criteria toward gay men and people living with HIV. He was a founder of the Rainbow Research Project which surveys and educates private pension schemes in how they recognise unmarried couples on death benefits. He was also a founder member of the Stonewall Immigration Group (which campaigned for Immigration rights for same-sex couples, achieving a significant victory in April 1997) and helped set up the gaypartners.org initiative with gay.com in early 2001, campaigning for same-sex partnership rights.

His highly personal approach to financial planning together with his technical investment skills and the support of the other partners at Isis Financial planners, makes him one of the most sought after advisors in the industry.

Jane Mudge is an experienced independent financial adviser (IFA) and in December 2009 became a Chartered Financial Planner. She is also a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society by examination (FPFS).

Jane specialises in pensions work and is a member of Personal Finance Society by diploma (Dip PFS). She holds the much sought after G60 (Pensions), K10 (Retirement Options) and K20 (Pension Investment Options) elements of the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate. This makes her amongst the most experienced women in the pensions industry.

She has worked for several life offices, including Friends Provident, before becoming an independent financial adviser in 1999. Jane has over 30 years experience of working in the financial services sector.

She believes passionately in delivering quality independent and unbiased advice on a client agreed remuneration basis and says ‘if I can't be independent, I'd rather not bother!'
