Is "gay financial advice" still necessary?

The ‘naughties’ has been a great decade so far for the gay and lesbian community with the introduction of the Civil Partnership Act on 5 December 2005. Other changes have taken place as well, notably changes to the underwriting criteria used by life insurance companies to underwrite gay men for life and critical illness insurance.
Does this mean that specialist "gay financial" advice is no longer necessary? No! Things might have improved significantly, but there are still areas of concern, discrimination and confusion.
